Close open ports that you have observed after performing an analysis of them

Yesterday we were looking at a very interesting option to analyze the status of our TCP / IP connection ports, a highly recommended process that will inform us if any type of access may be open, thus causing a security problem, or if the otherwise everything is closed as it should be.

Well, as we indicated yesterday, today we will see what we can do if the result of the analysis does not yield the expected results and instead of appearing as closed, we have detected that some port is open without our authorization.

If we are in this situation, we must act quickly, protect ourselves through a firewall, conduct an analysis in search of viruses and safeguard our data, so our recommendation in this situation is to carry out the following steps .

Check and activate the Windows firewall
Or if not, install a third-party firewall, such as ZoneAlarm Free Firewall
Perform a virus and malware scan
Make a backup of our data, just in case they are in danger
Re-perform port analysis to see if everything is already correct
In this way, with the first step we will be able to close the unauthorized accesses, with the second we will clean our system if a malware has been the cause of this modification in the ports and the third will avoid having a dislike if the situation gets worse, if they have stolen information or if there is a risk of destroying it, so by joining the three measures indicated, we could be sure of having mitigated the risk in our system.

And obviously, the last point would be to carry out the port analysis again, to see if in this way and with the implemented solutions we have already managed to close the connections that we had open until now.

Therefore, do not hesitate to perform a security analysis of your system and do not hesitate to start these measures if you detect any anomalous situation, some open port or something that does not fit you.
