The mango has a high content of water and carbohydrates, so its caloric value is quite high. However, it is a fruit very rich in magnesium and vitamins A and C. This means that only 200g of mango can help us cover the daily dose of these vitamins.

Vitamin C helps us absorb iron better from food, fight diseases, protect our heart and strengthen our immune system, making us resistant to infections. For its part, beta-carotene is transforming into vitamin A in our body to improve the state of hair, skin, bones, vision and mucous membranes, also for the proper functioning of the immune system. Both vitamin C and vitamin A, has an antioxidant function.

On the other hand, it also provides magnesium, potassium and fiber that improve intestinal transit and immunity and reduce sodium.

Who should moderate their consumption?

Remember that all fruits are essential for health and each of them provides great benefits. However, if you suffer from type 2 diabetes you have to be careful when choosing them, because the mango, for example, provides large amounts of sugar, so you have to consume it in moderation just like the banana.
