The Porsche 911 makes history: one million units manufactured


For any general model, the production of its one million unit may be anecdotal, but not for the Porsche 911. A sports car not available to all the pockets that has achieved this magic figure thanks to its virtues maintained over the years and that have made it an icon of the automotive industry.

From the Zuffenhausen factory this one million unit has come out, a Carrera S with the special color "Irish Green", which has numerous exclusive elements following the original pattern of 911 of 1963. This two-door sports car continues to be the most important model of the range from the strategic point of view, and has a huge contribution when it comes to keeping Porsche as one of the most profitable car manufacturers in the world.

The Porsche 911 established a new category and remains at the top of the segment of premium sports vehicles. In 2016 alone, 32,365 units of this model were delivered worldwide.



The quality of 911 is beyond doubt. More than 70% of all 911 built since its inception are still in operation today. In addition, it can be found continuously at the top of the quality rankings such as that carried out by the North American market research institute J.D. Power and we've talked to you on more than one occasion.

Porsche has never deviated from the original 911 concept. "But we have continued to improve the 911 technology, refining and perfecting this sport," says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Porsche AG. "It is the reason why it remains a technologically innovative and avant-garde vehicle."

The 911 million will stay in Porsche AG. Before going on to enrich the collection of the Porsche Museum, he will take a world tour and take part in caravans on highways in the Scottish Highlands and around the Nürburgring, as well as in the United States, China and elsewhere.
