Soon you can buy Nike products from the official profile of the brand on Instagram


Recently, Nike revealed its plan to officially sell its products directly on Amazon. Now, again surprised, announcing his intentions to do the same, but directly from Instagram.

This agreement with Instagram will make Nike one of the few brands that have the option to sell their products directly from the mobile application. Such is the case of Levi's, which already allows its accessories to be purchased from their official profiles.

Nike wants to turn its presence into social networks into something more than a showcase for its products, and wants to let its followers directly acquire what they see on Instagram.

And this is important because the benefits of direct sales to consumers of Nike translated into 9.1 billion dollars in the last fiscal year, which meant an increase of 18% over the previous year. Likewise, digital sales increased 30%.

Currently Nike's Instagram profile has 73.3 million followers, which means a strategic move to market its products directly to its fan base, and social network users.



Instagram exceeded 700 million users in April of this year. That mark surpassed it just four months after having passed the barrier of 600 million, in December 2016. From that user base, 37.5 million are monthly active users. The application has been developing specific functionalities so that users can purchase products while viewing image galleries.

Increase in sales

It is to be expected that this announcement will have a positive impact on the sales of Nike, founded more than 50 years ago. Bloomberg, said that the manufacturer announced in 2015 its intentions to bring its sales to 50 billion dollars annually by the end of 2020. The medium revealed that for the fiscal year that has just ended, the North American brand took a 6.1 %, reaching 34.4 billion dollars.

Social networks have meant a window for companies to connect even more with their followers and without a doubt, also to make the best conversions of visits to sales.
