Why should I encourage spicy food?

Spicy is what it itches: a food in itself, a stew or a sauce. Spicy foods make our tongue start to burn, our eyes fill with tears and our nose itches and this happens because in its composition they contain capsaicin, piperine, isothiocyanate, aligin and gingerol, depending on the food. Advantages of spicy foods for health

Experts advise to consume spicy food in moderation, that is, not exceed three spicy meals a week.

Spicy has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and has traditionally been used to improve blood circulation and digestion, promote sweating and prevent intestinal parasitization.

Some studies have linked some of the components of spicy with a decreased risk of suffering from various types of cancers such as the urinary tract and colorectal cancer. However, there are not enough scientific arguments to affirm it. On the other hand, it is believed that it helps to lose weight because it generates an increase in sweating and a metabolic energy expenditure.

Contraindications of spicy

Despite the benefits of spicy, it also has contraindications, since it can exacerbate some chronic diseases. Spicy is not prohibited in any diet, because any healthy person should incorporate spicy foods into their diet to improve digestion and reduce some ailments.

However, those who suffer from gastritis, stomach ulcers, heartburn, dyspepsia, irritable bowel or any other alteration of the digestive system should avoid it. Those who suffer from digestive hemorrhages, liver problems and hemorrhoids should also do so.

That is why experts advise to eat spicy foods in moderation to really be a good ally and not a problem for health. If you want to know more post like this, take a look at the Nutrition category
